So what does “ think like a bee ” mean?

Before I answer this question, let me tell you a little something about bees. During the winter, in order to keep themselves alive (especially their queen!), bees will cluster around their queen and squeeze together tightly, rapidly vibrating their muscles, and this kinetic energy generates enough combined body heat to keep them warm until spring. I don’t know why, but I think there’s something really beautiful about this.

You can hear them all through spring, summer and fall, a constant hum of bees coming and going from the hives. But in winter, you have to put your hand on the hive, and hold your breath a little, but you can feel the vibrations and know that the hive is still there, working hard to survive.

So, I am going to get spiritual on you here for a moment, but thinking like a bee means getting in tune with the vibrations of the universe. This means listening to your mind and body — and do the work on healing what needs to be healed, and sharing your true authentic self with the world.

It means not following the “just good vibes only” crowd, but learning how to reframe negative self-talk, practicing positive affirmations, going to therapy (if you need it, if you can, if you are able to, if you can afford to, if it is safe for you to do so, … etc), and so much more. Find what resonates with you. Mind & body working in harmony with each other. When you start to find the right vibrations, you can feel it, just like the hive, a little hum inside of you — that’s how you know you’re working hard to survive too.

If you want to read more about the vibrations of the universe, this paper on the Resonance Theory of Consciousness is wild.
